We have just started taking part in Daily Mile Destinations and we are super motivated to travel to new destinations.

The aim of Daily Mile Destination is to keep pupils, fit, focused and flourishing - the journey is in their hands. Each class will aim to achieve 100 days of The Daily Mile, each class will strive to complete 3-5 days of The Daily Mile a week with each Daily Mile day moving each class closer towards achieving a new destination sticker and certificate!

Every week we are also on the lookout to see which class has the most children in who are achieving at least one mile during their Daily Mile sessions. The fittest class will receive a trophy and a special mention in assembly.

Y4M were the winning class this week w/c 10/03/2020! They had the most children achieving a mile during their Daily Mile sessions. Well done!

This is the second year running that we have provided free tag rugby training after school. We have a fantastic team in training and we are looking forward to taking part in many competitions!

We were so lucky to have two of our Year 6 pupils take part in the Tour De Yorkshire 2019 and they had the opportunity to meet some of the riders.

After applying for the 2018/19 School Games Mark Award, Tranmoor Primary School have successfully achieved the Silver Mark!

Each application is divided into four sets of questions;

  1. Participation – how many young people at your school are being engaged in sporting activity?
  2. Competition – how many different sports are being played and how many competitions are being entered?
  3. Workforce – how many pupils are involved in leadership activities alongside taking part in competitions?
  4. Clubs – how many local links does your school have with clubs or establishments from the area?

Based on the answers given, schools are graded from Bronze to Gold based upon their engagement across the year.

Congratulations to Tranmoor Primary on this achievement.

The Year 6 tag rugby team took part in a tournament and played against 8 schools. The children achieved 4th place and showed great determination. Well done!

THE DAILY MILE

In June 2018 we launched our new Daily Mile track and we are all raring to go. We are excited to see the health and wellbeing benefits that The Daily Mile brings.

What is the Daily Mile?

The Daily Mile is simple and free and gets children out of the classroom for fifteen minutes every day to run or jog, at their own pace, with their classmates, making them fitter, healthier, and more able to concentrate in the classroom. The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances.

The children in Year 4 are feeling energised and ready for their learning after taking part in The Daily Mile. One of the children said " The Daily Mile boosts my brain power!"

We are already seeing so many benefits in taking part in The Daily Mile!

Tag Rugby

The Year 5 and 6 children have been taking part in tag rugby training sessions and they have been selected to play in a tournament against other schools in Doncaster.  We look forward to hearing about their achievements!

Tranmoor took part in a full day tournament at Shaw Wood Academy. The children took part in football, tag rugby and rounders.

The Year 5 and 6 children were picked to represent Tranmoor Primary at The Kids Cup Tournament which was held at Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday 17th January 2018.

The children played in 6 a side games against different schools across Doncaster.

The children really enjoyed it and we hope there are more games in the future!

Year 2 and Year 3 took part in a playground skills session in November. This session included lots of cycling games which improved bike handling skills and it included outcomes of level one bikeability.

GOLDEN LOCK

Tranmoor Primary have got the ‘Golden Lock’ and each month a child who has ridden to school on their scooter or their bike will randomly be chosen to receive a prize. If you see that your bike or scooter has got the ‘Golden Lock’ then you need to see Miss Nice as you have been chosen for the prize.

Remember you can only be in with a chance of winning a prize if you scoot or cycle to school.

Below are our latest winners.

Past winners of the Golden Lock.

Football

The year 3,4,5 and 6 girls were invited to the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA football festival at Keepmoat Stadium. Throughout the day the girls were involved in friendly 5 a side, referee workshop, goalkeeper workshop, freestyle workshop, target shoot, batak boards, mascot dancing with Berry the Bear, face painting, hair braiding and they even got to meet women's Super League players!

We all had a fantastic time and we hope that we can go again next year.
