We have just started taking part in Daily Mile Destinations and we are super motivated to travel to new destinations.
The aim of Daily Mile Destination is to keep pupils, fit, focused and flourishing - the journey is in their hands. Each class will aim to achieve 100 days of The Daily Mile, each class will strive to complete 3-5 days of The Daily Mile a week with each Daily Mile day moving each class closer towards achieving a new destination sticker and certificate!
Every week we are also on the lookout to see which class has the most children in who are achieving at least one mile during their Daily Mile sessions. The fittest class will receive a trophy and a special mention in assembly.

We were so lucky to have two of our Year 6 pupils take part in the Tour De Yorkshire 2019 and they had the opportunity to meet some of the riders.
Each application is divided into four sets of questions;
- Participation – how many young people at your school are being engaged in sporting activity?
- Competition – how many different sports are being played and how many competitions are being entered?
- Workforce – how many pupils are involved in leadership activities alongside taking part in competitions?
- Clubs – how many local links does your school have with clubs or establishments from the area?
Based on the answers given, schools are graded from Bronze to Gold based upon their engagement across the year.

THE DAILY MILE
In June 2018 we launched our new Daily Mile track and we are all raring to go. We are excited to see the health and wellbeing benefits that The Daily Mile brings.
What is the Daily Mile?
The Daily Mile is simple and free and gets children out of the classroom for fifteen minutes every day to run or jog, at their own pace, with their classmates, making them fitter, healthier, and more able to concentrate in the classroom. The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances.
The children in Year 4 are feeling energised and ready for their learning after taking part in The Daily Mile. One of the children said " The Daily Mile boosts my brain power!"
We are already seeing so many benefits in taking part in The Daily Mile!
