Families Information Service (FIS)

Families Information Service provides information, advice and guidance for parents, carers, practitioners, children and young people on a wide range of services and activities/events available in Doncaster and beyond.

FIS is responsible for maintaining the records of registered childcare providers in Doncaster. Their details can be found on our Childcare and Schools Finder linked below.

FIS is also responsible for the publication of the Local Offer and for the administration of the TIE Register and TIE Cards.

Local Offer

The Local Offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place. It shows families what they can expect from a range of local agencies including education, health and social care.

TIE (Together Information Exchange)

TIE is Doncaster’s version of the children’s disability register. We are required, by law, to keep a register of disabled children and young people in our local authority area. The register is voluntary and children can be registered if they are aged 0-19 and have a disability*.

Children who are registered with TIE are entitled to receive a TIE Card – this card allows the cardholder or their carer to gain free or discounted entry to a variety of venues across Doncaster. The cardholder will also be eligible to access the Short Breaks Holiday Activity Timetable.

Parents/carers, or young people aged 16+, can complete the online e-form found on the website below to make an application to join the TIE Register.

*We require evidence of a child’s disability before they can be registered with TIE. Please see the website for more information

SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs and Disability, Information, Advice and Support)

SENDIAS is a free, confidential, impartial service which offers information, advice and support to children and young people, aged 0-25 years, who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents and carers.
